Resapol Foundation supports Band of Builders

The Resapol Foundation has announced it has donated £1,000 to the Band of Builders; the Foundation was set up with the aim of support individuals, charities, organisations and communities throughout the UK, aiming to make a lasting and positive difference to people’s lives.

Band of Builders was born in 2016 when their founder took to social media to ask for help renovating the home of close friend and colleague Keith Ellick. Doctors diagnosed Keith with terminal cancer. The incredible response from tradespeople across the UK saw the project completed. The industry demonstrated what can be achieved when it stands together.Band Of Builders Donation

“The generosity of businesses and individuals never ceases to amaze us – and this is invaluable in enabling our charity to continue completing practical projects to help members of the UK construction industry and their families who are battling illness or injury,” commented Band of Builders CEO, Gavin Crane.

“Thank you to the Resapol Foundation for the donation and choosing to support a charity which is solely focused on supporting the UK construction industry.”

Band of Builders has grown to become a registered charity that completes practical projects to help members of the UK construction industry who are battling illness or injury. For each project, volunteers come together to help their fellow tradespeople. This is through renovations or repairs that make a real difference to their lives.

Helen Kirby, Resapol’s head of marketing added: “The Resapol Foundation is incredibly proud to be able to support a charity that is dedicated solely to supporting those within the Construction Industry and their families. It is truly a privilege to be able to contribute toward the meaningful impact that they make.”

Band of Builders also organises the Big Brew. The annual event raises awareness of the mental health crisis in the construction industry, where the suicide rate is estimated to be as high as two people every day. UK construction workers are also nearly three times as likely to die by suicide than their counterparts in other industries.
