Wolseley joins the Get Britain Building coalition

Builders and plumbers merchant group Wolseley is now officially supporting the Get Britain Building Campaign.

Wolseley joins the Get Britain Building coalition

The coalition to Get Britain Building is spearheaded by the Builders’ Merchants Federation, the Modern Masonry Alliance, British Precast and the Federation of Master Builders, who want the government to help the UK construction industry recover and prosper in the current economic climate.

Rob Marchbank, CEO Wolseley Europe and managing director of Wolseley UK, said: “The unprecedented market conditions continue to be challenging and we fully support any campaign which provides a benefit to communities and the sector. We welcome the pledge by the Government to invest £1.5bn in the housing sector, and encourage it to ensure the investment materialises.

“Our nationwide network of branches will be given the opportunity to utilise Get Britain Building marketing materials to help raise awareness of the campaign on a local level and publically show our support.”

Get Britain Building Campaign’s Mike Leonard, director of the Modern Masonry Alliance, said: “We are delighted that Wolseley is backing the campaign to Get Britain Building. The support of the UK’s largest distributor of plumbing and heating materials will prove invaluable as we seek to persuade Government to put the recovery of the construction sector at the heart of its plans for economic recovery.”
