Travis Perkins Managed Service colleagues organised and took part in a mixed netball tournament at the Benham Sports Centre to raise money for its charity partner Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity. The tournament involved 10 teams, who played over 23 matches throughout the day and raised over £8,000 for the charity.
The tournament featured generous donations and sponsorships from some of Travis Perkins Managed Services suppliers, including Wirquin, Geberit, Mira, Duracell, Wondergrip and City Electrical Factors.
Sarah Glennon, PA to Director for Travis Perkins Managed Services, said: “We’re so proud that so many people took the time out to support Centrepoint. It was really important that it was a mixed netball tournament as we wanted to do something that reflects our values of diversity and inclusion at Travis Perkins Managed Services. We want to say a big thank you to everyone who donated and helped us to reach our goal.”
The event included 23 x 12-minute matches leading up to a semi-final and then a final. The winning team that lifted the trophy was ‘1,2 Stick Like Glue.’
The mixed netball format was chosen with inclusivity in mind, to give all colleagues across the group and suppliers an opportunity to join in and also offer something new to the industry.
