Travis Perkins get branch re-development go-ahead

Builders merchants Travis Perkins are to redevelop their branch in Bridport, Dorset, now that permission has been given to open a cut-price supermarket next door.

Travis Perkins put in a joint application with discount supermarket chain Lidl and are selling part of their land to Lidl, using the money to rebuild and expand their branch, increasing the workforce of 25 people by five.

The proposal had been subject to some strong objections from residents and locals, particularly with regard to traffic issues.
