Builders merchant Travis Perkins is looking to develop more multiple mixed-use schemes in London that incorporate residential properties as well as builders merchants.

The company is reviewing options at a number of its 182 London branches and has four developments in the pipeline.

Three are existing Travis Perkins sites that will be redeveloped with a residential partner and one will be in a new location for the group.

Group property director Martin Meech told a summit on London mixed-use development hosted by Travis Perkins, that there was scope for more than a dozen  sites to be redeveloped into mixed-use schemes in London. The group already has two mixed- use schemes in London, at St Pancras and Battersea.

“We want to expand the concept to other boroughs in London,” Meech said. “We are seeing our branch numbers  in London decline because the land is being lost to residential development, but at the same time demand for building materials has increased.”
