ST Andrews Timber & Building Supplies have extended their opening hours due to roadworks near Edinburgh to help people make it through the morning rush.
The Scottish Gas Network (SGN) began to improve pipes on Gorgie Road, and the company estimated it would take around 10 weeks, so the builders merchant is offering customers free food and longer opening hours following the roadworks.
St Andrews Timber & Building Supplies said that there have been huge hold ups due to this, especially during the morning rush, making it difficult for people to make it through to the builders’ merchants.
Tam Whitehead, Stenhouse branch manager, said that they had heard about the work which was planned by SGN and they knew it would cause problems for the customers. They hoped that by opening at 7AM they would help customers beat the traffic to get coffee and food. And anybody visiting between 7-11AM would get vouchers at the Sitooterie Café. They were also operating an increased delivery system for customers who would prefer to avoid the area during this time.
