SCA Merchant Services grows Scottish team

SCA Merchant Services, who acquired Swedscot Timber Ltd in Cumbernauld this September, are already beginning to strengthen their operation by welcoming two new members to the team.

Brendan Murphy has been appointed Operations Manager and Cheryl Wallace becomes Internal Sales Coordinator. Both bring with them a wealth of timber and local market knowledge.

Brendan Murphy joins SCA from James Callander & Son where he has held the position of Operations Manager for the past two years. Previous to this, Murphy worked for Metsä Wood in Grangemouth for 38 years. Brendan has vast experience in timber distribution having worked in the industry since the age of 16.

Cheryl Wallace, who has spent the past 8 years at Thornbridge Sawmills as Sales Manager, brings over 10 years experience in the timber industry. With excellent market and product knowledge, Wallace is tasked with expanding current trading activities.

“I am delighted to welcome both Brendan and Cheryl to enhance our team,” states Steven McRitchie, General Manager of SCA Merchant Services, Cumbernauld. “Both individuals have extensive experience in the timber trade. Their local knowledge will help to grow our business during the transition from Swedscot Timber Ltd to SCA Merchant Services.”
