Alan Ball, md plumbing and heating merchant PTS has persuaded two of his key suppliers to join him in a 26 mile run round the streets of London later this month.
Ball has teamed up with Twyford Bathrooms md Mike Conlon and Paul Massey from Ideal Boilers to complete the Flora London Marathon on April 26 – all in aid of the NSPCC.
The three have pledged to raise over £15,000 for cause which also funds ChildLine – the 24 hour confidential helpline for children in danger or distress or who have a worry.
Both Ball and Conlon visited the ChildLine head offices in London earlier this month to see where their hard earned sponsorship money would be making a difference and to encourage further support for their biggest fundraising challenge to date.
Ball said: “The Flora London Marathon is a tremendous challenge but the work of the NSPCC, which provides the ChildLine service, is incredibly worthy. PTS chose the NSPCC as its partner charity in 2008 and its work to wipe out child abuse has been inspirational throughout the intense training which goes into preparing for the marathon. We are lucky to have a fantastic relationship with our suppliers and this has been demonstrated by Mike and Paul who have agreed to run with me.”
