PTS helps ex-offenders

Plumbers merchant PTS has joined up with a social housing procurement consortium to offer ex-offenders valuable training and employment prospects to help get them back into employment.

Procure Plus and PTS have been working together to create a programme designed specifically to help ex-offenders in Manchester get back into work.

Each chosen candidate is offered a six month placement at PTS’ warehouse, based in Salford, where they can learn key employment skills and work across various elements of the business. As part of the scheme, they are also offered the chance to complete a NVQ Level Two in Warehousing.

Upon completion of placement, the candidates will be able to apply for permanent job opportunities which may be available within the company.

To support them through their employment, PTS has assigned each candidate with a mentor who provides on-the-job advice and guidance, and an expert team from Procure Plus will be on hand to monitor and evaluate the work trial to ensure the candidates get all the help they need.
