Plumbers merchant opens 15th branch

Williams & Co, the Hampshire plumbers merchant behind the boiler scrappage campaign, opened a new branch in Basingstoke today.

Plumbers merchant opens 15th branch

The trade-only merchant branch on the West Ham Industrial Estate was officially opened by managing director Mick Williams and Fiona Russell Horne, editor of buildersmerchantsjournal.net.

The branch is managed by Mark White and is on Grafton Way, close to the local PTS branch.

Williams told buildersmerchantsjournal.net: “We weren’t specifically looking at Basingstoke as a location for our next expansion move but the right premises came up. For a town of its size there are a surprising number of plumbers and installers and a number of the large national plumbers merchant chains.

“We like to have branches in areas where the nationals also have branches as we believe we can offer plumbers a genuine alternative, a flexible, competitive service that’s focused entirely on the tradesman.”
