Plumbers merchant Plumbase has added 12 branches to its total, following their purchase by Plumbase parent Grafton Group from rival merchant Travis Perkins.

Plumbase adds 12 branches

The new depots are 11 former PTS branches and one City Plumbing Supplies branch. Travis Perkins sold the branches in order to meet Office of Fair Trading requirements regarding its takeover of rival BSS Group.

The acquisition takes the total number of Plumbase branches to 194. The new outlets are at Bridgend, Port Talbot, Swansea, Merthyr Tydfil, Haverfordwest, Tamworth, Telford, Hitchin, Luton, Witney, Woolwich and Newport on the Isle of Wight.

“To add 12 new branches in a matter of days is an exciting step forward for us. It also involved a lot of hard work and commitment from both our existing teams and our new colleagues, and provided a great opportunity to develop teamwork,” says Chris Maityard, Plumbase operations director.
