Journalist Matthew Gwyther will be conference host. He has edited Management Today for the last nine years, during which time he has won the coveted BSME Business Magazine Editor of the year on a record five occasions.

During a fifteen year career as a freelance, he wrote for the Sunday Times magazine, The Independent, The Telegraph, The Observer, GQ and was a contributing editor to Business magazine. He was PPA Business Feature Writer of the Year in 2001 .

David Smith is Economics Editor of The Sunday Times, as well as the paper’s Assistant Editor and Policy Advisor, and a regular contributor to CBI’s Business Voice. Amongst the first to predict a V-shaped recovery, he was careful to say that it would take time to become discernible.

A widely respected economics commentator, Smith is the author of several books, including From Boom to Bust, Will Europe Work?, The Age of Instability, and The Dragon and the Elephant: China, India and the New World Order. His most recent work, Free Lunch, is a guide to economics for the lay-person now that it seems essential we all understand the subject.

Smith has appeared at industry conference before, notably THE Conference in Cyrus in 2005 and BMF Members’ Day.

The NMBS 2016 Conference takes place from June 16 to 19 in Lanzarote.
