Builders Merchants Journal – BMJ Publishing to Builders Merchants and the UK merchanting industry for more than 95 years
Nick Knowles, presenter of BBC TV’s DIY SOS will be the keynote speaker at the Builders Merchants Federation’s Young Merchants Conference this year.
The event takes place on Wednesday 7 October, during UK Construction Week at the NEC, Birmingham.
Knowles, who spoke at the BMF’s All-Industry Conference in Dubrovnik last year, has become the face of construction on TV. His BBC One DIY SOS programme not only transforms lives, but also celebrates the spirit and professionalism of the building community – including the many local trades that volunteer their skills and time, and the merchants and builder materials suppliers who regularly offer support.
BMF CEO John Newcomb, said that Knowles was an extremely popular speaker at the BMF All Industry Conference last year. “We are is delighted the association with the BMF is to be continued at the second Young Merchants Conference, which we are confident will now become a bi-annual event.”
The BMF Young Merchants Group, which is hosting the conference, is open to those aged between 21 and 40 working in the building material supply industry. This year’s theme is “Building the Next Generation” and is designed to encourage, inspire and enthuse.
