Group sales director of carver (Wolverhampton) Ltd Ivan Savage has been appointed 2008 Regional President for the Midlands Timber Trades Benevolent Society (TTBS) at the recent TTBS AGM in Solihull.
The Society is a charitable organisation and has ten regional committees. Apart from their substantial investments, they rely on voluntary contributions from companies and individuals and they raise a large part of their income each year from fund raising events such as golf days and gala events around the country.
The funds are distributed in numerous ways to provide specialist equipment, contributing to winter fuel bills, TV licences, telephone rentals and Christmas and Spring hampers plus other items to assist widows, elderly, retired and disabled ex members of the timber industry.
Ivan will also continue as Treasurer for the Midlands region, a position he has held with the Society for a number of years.
