Independent builders merchant buying group The National Buying Group has appointed its new managing director.
Nick Oates joins the organisation on January 1 2013, but will be at the 2012 NBG Conference in Edinburgh on 14th and 15th November, giving partners and suppliers the opportunity to meet him.
Oates was previously a trading director of NMBS and has extensive experience in the industry, both with independent merchants and procurement. As managing director, he will chair the NBG trading board and lead the team of employees at NBG.
James Norton, vice chairman of the NBG Executive Board said: “The Executive Board were particularly impressed with his passion, skills and innovative ideas, and look forward to his contribution leading to improved deals for the Group.”
Non-Executive chairman, David Szymanski said: “We are very pleased that Nick has chosen to join NBG. His positive nature and extensive industry experience will be great assets to the Group.”
