NBG adds Gow as new roofing Partner

Sussex-based roofing merchant Brian Gow has joined independent builders merchant buying group NBG, aiming to strengthen the business through better deals and the support of a strong network.

Brian Gow joins a strong existing contingent of roofing merchants within NBG, including Dontell Roofing Supplies in West London, Alltype Roofing Supplies in South-East London, and Henshaws Roofing & Building Supplies in Manchester.

Led by managing director Brian Gow, technical director Steve King, and commercial director Keith Page, the business operates out of five depots, and specialises in hand-made and machine-made roof tiles. It also has a heavyside division which covers all aspects of building materials.

Page was put in touch with Phil Bonar, NBG’s head of new partner development and recruitment, following discussions about buying groups with other merchants..

He said: “We had already made up our minds before talking to Phil. Speaking to roofing merchants and seeing how NBG helps them, it wasn’t a question of whether this is right for us or not. Instead, we were asking: why didn’t we do this ages ago?

“Lots of new Suppliers have reached out to begin trading with us and existing Suppliers are seeing us in a new light. The difference in buying through NBG is financially far better.”

Bonar said: “We’re very happy that Brain Gow is now an NBG Partner. Keith’s experience with another group meant he could quickly see the differences that make NBG special and how his business will benefit. We’re looking forward to seeing them grow with our support and excellent deals.”
