MKM revamps Edinburgh showroom

Independent builders merchant MKM Building Supplies has invested a five figure sum in renovating the kitchen and bathroom showroom at its Edinburgh branch.

MKM revamps Edinburgh showroom

The revamped showroom houses a range of products aimed at everything from starter homes to luxury houses including classic and designer kitchens, contemporary bathrooms and wet rooms.

The work has been accompanied by a new layout for the Murrayburn Road outlet, which puts the showroom at a 45 degree angle to the trade counter, making it more visible to the merchant’s commercial customers.

Despite only being completed in June, it is already starting to attract new business from both trade and retail markets according to branch director Robert Graham.

Graham described the finished project as the ‘best builders’ merchant kitchen and bathroom showroom in Scotland’.

He said: “I am really pleased with the result; I think it is the best kitchen and bathroom showroom in the MKM group and the best builders’ merchant showroom in Scotland.

“And because we have angled the shop to make the showroom more visible, it is attracting more attention from our trade customers.

“We have also strategically positioned it so it can be seen from our landscape display, which means more retail customers have been attracted to the showroom, so the revamp and the new layout together are helping to boost business at both ends of our customer base.”

As part of the work MKM Edinburgh has reduced its kitchen suppliers from three to one and now deals exclusively with the Symphony brand.

Currently 20 out of a total of 42 branches have kitchen and bathroom showrooms and a programme is in place to increase that number.
