MKM Building Supplies has announced it will be opening its 127th and 128th branches in Cardiff and Shrewsbury.
MKM Cardiff 127th will open its doors to the trade and public on April 8, creating 20 new jobs in the area. Its 128th branch, MKM Shrewsbury, will open shortly after on April 15, creating 19 new jobs for the local area.
MKM Cardiff’s new co-branch director, Russ Lewis, said: “I’ve lived in Cardiff for 48 years and started working on the trade counter of a local merchant at 16 years old. To be leading the first MKM in South Wales, building a best-in-class merchant for trade and retail customers in the community I love is a dream come true.”
Its Shrewsbury branch will be under the guidance of branch director Patrick Chall, and he commented: “I’ve lived in Shrewsbury for over 16 years now, the community is tight-knit, and I’m determined that the new MKM Shrewsbury branch will be an extension of that. I was asked what would stand us apart from other merchants, and without a doubt it’s going to be our customer service, expertise and local knowledge.
“The team we’re putting in place are the best of the best – selected for their diversity of experience and knowledge. Everything we do will be aimed towards giving customers a great experience.”
MKM Cardiff’s co-branch director Dan Love, who will run the branch alongside Lewis, added: “With the specialist knowledge of our team, we’re ready to inspire and assist customers with their whole building project.”
