Mark Leggatt sales director of independent Northampton builders merchant Martin & Partners is taking part in the Budapest-Bamako rally for SOS Children’s Villages.
Leggat flies out on January 16 2012 to join his team mate Gregg Anderson, an M&P customer, in Spain where they start a two week trip with 150 other teams.
The rally covers 6500 miles over some extremely rough terrain driving though Morocco, Mauritania and Senagal and hope to finish in Bissau City, Guinea-Bissau.
The pair are raising funds for local and international charities including SOS Children’s Villages, Warks. & Northants Air Ambulance, Cynthia Spencer Hospice and The Mayor of Northampton’s Charities.
They launched their fund raising at an event last August with the Mayor of Northampton who presented the team with a gift for the Mayor of Bissau.
