Builders Merchants Journal – BMJ Publishing to Builders Merchants and the UK merchanting industry for more than 95 years
Beers Building and Timber Supplies of Liverpool have bought the Wirral builders merchants arm of Bromborough Paints.
The branch, in Eastham, Wirral employs 20 staff.
90 year old family firm Beers, members of buying group NBG LLP, currently have branches in Liverpool, Heswall, Hooton and Warrington.
Bromborough Paints, an independent paint and wall-coverings distributor with eight depots from Kendal to Shrewsbury, plan to invest the sale proceeds in expanding the core business.
Mike Cattell, director of Bromborough Paints, said that the deal shows the success of two local, family-owned businesses. The company has three branches due to open this year in Chester, Northwich and Lancaster.
