Howdens, the trade kitchen supplier, unveils the latest finished project in its Game Changer Programme at Hedinghams United FC in Sible Hedingham, Essex, alongside footballing legend and Game Changer ambassador, Chris ‘Kammy’ Kamara MBE.
The Howdens Game Changer Programme is a national community outreach campaign that works with grassroots football clubs to transform clubhouse kitchens.
The facilities at Hedingham United FC were supplied by Howdens’ Sudbury depot and installed by Tom Easter, who was named Howdens Kitchen Fitter of the Year at the On The Tools Awards.
The improved facilities will help all the club’s teams to support players, volunteers and the wider community including men’s teams in the Essex & Suffolk Border League Division 1 and Division 4, the women’s team in the Essex County Women’s League Division 2, plus youth teams across age groups in the Backwater and Dengie Division.
Kamara, MBE, who has lent his support by driving home the importance of grassroots football and clubhouse facilities on his own career, said: “It was fantastic to see the completion of our latest Game Changer project and to hear the difference the renovated facilities will make to both the teams and the wider community. This investment will help this local club, and the grassroots game, to thrive.”
