Builders merchants Jewson have signed a 12-year contract with social housing provider Whitefriars Housing Group, following their merger with West Mercia Housing Group.

The deal means Jewson will supply products for all the maintenance activity across the group’s 17,500 housing stock in and around Coventry. There is also the possibility of expanding the deal to the entire West Mercia Housing Group, adding a further 6,000 houses to the service.
Jewson and Whitefriars have also implemented on-site product training programmes for Whitefriars’ workforce.
The agreement also means that Whitefriars Good Deal card can be used by tenants to get significant discounts off materials purchased at Jewson.
Andrew Tait, Public Sector Director for Jewson, says: “We believe that the arrangement will continue to deliver substantial value across the 12-year period. This contract provides a platform from which sustainability and efficiency gains throughout the Midlands can be met and on which significant cost savings can be made.”
Jewson have committed to maintaining over 95% stock availability on all products, and a 15 minute turnaround on collections.
