Jewson joins with EST for green awareness day

The day was part of a national programme of events the merchant is running to give builders, developers and architects the information required to meet the challenges of building more sustainably.

The special sustainability day was open to all local construction professionals from across Manchester and the wider county and featured experts from Jewson, the Energy Savings Trust and over twenty suppliers of sustainable products and building solutions.

There was also information on how to access government funding to promote greener products.

Mark Padden, area director for Jewson said: “Anyone involved in our industry needs to have a full understanding of the sustainable solutions that are available on the market and how these solutions can help builders.

“I am delighted so many of our local professionals took advantage of the day – at one point I counted over sixty people in the seminar about photovoltaic cells! I must also thank everyone who participated in the raffle and raised over £200 for Help the Hospices.”
