Jacksons lose 33 jobs

The recession in construction has caused 33 jobs to be lost at the head office of Lincoln builders merchants Jackson Building Centres.

The firm, part of Grafton Merchanting GB, will lose seven or eight jobs from the back office in the next few months, with the remainder to go from the accounts department by April 2010.

Managing director Simon Jackson said the moves were an inevitable consequence of market conditions and that they are designed to reduce costs.
