IronmongeryDirect gets a new home

IronmongeryDirect, the ironmongery merchant is moving to new premises at the end of this month.

The new premises on Scimitar Park, Basildon are 50,000 sq ft compared to the current site 19,000 sq ft in Hockley.

The new base gives the company room to expand from its current staffing levels of 90; it expects to recruit up to 160 more people in the next four years.

Managing director Wayne Lysaght-Mason, says: “Our new purpose-built environment means the layout of the business is optimised to help build on our operating efficiencies. It allows us to maximise our already award winning customer service. The move puts us in a strong position for continued growth.”

The new site will also house a trade counter, stocking over 11,500 products, with capacity to double that 20,000 ready for next day delivery as standard.
