Ironmongery Direct announces record results

IronmongeryDirect, trade supplier of ironmongery products saw profits double to £1million in 2010.

Turnover rose to £12.5m, up 25% on the previous year. Managing director Wayne Lysaght-Mason, said: “This is an immense result for the company. This past year has been difficult for the industry and for some merchants, but offering flexibility, technical expertise and a reliable next day delivery service we feel has answered what our market needs, and has kept customers returning.

“We have succeeded in our sixth year of consecutive growth, with plans on track for turnover of £50m in just 4 years time.”

Online turnover grew to £4.3m, an increase of 40% on 2009.

Further expansion is planned in 2011 with a move to bigger premises. Lysaght-Mason says: “We are continuing to expand and invest in the business, product offering and our staff.”
