Irish buying groups combine

Two Irish builders’ merchants and DIY groups, Associated Hardware and National Hardware, have joined up to increase their purchasing power.
Associated Hardware operates the Homevalue brand, while National Hardware is behind the Arro brand. Both are member-owned and represent 150 businesses throughout the country.

The new company will be called United Hardware and will combine the buying functions of the two organsations.

The builders merchants and home improvement market in Ireland is currently worth an estimated €3.5bn. There are no plans to develop the strategic partnership beyond the area of purchasing.
