Brick manufacturer Ibstock Brick has more nominations on the shortlist of the 2011 Brick Awards than any other
This year’s Awards have garnered the highest number of entries ever at 200. There are 15 awards in three categories: housing, building and landscape, and technical and craft. There is also the Supreme Award – the Brick Development Association Building of the Year, judged to be the best overall project from the 15 award winners.
Ibstock bricks have 24 nominations, Wienerberger have nine, plus a joint nomination with Hanson, and Freshfield Lane Brickworks, part of Michelmersh Holdings have five.
“The calibre of entries for these awards just gets better and better with some outstanding projects being submitted, making the judging process extremely difficult”, commented a member of the judging panel, which is chaired by Bob Allies of Allies and Morrison.
The Awards will be presented at London’s Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel on November 2.
