Huws Gray buys J E Fuller as part of southern expansion

Independent builders merchants Huws Gray Group has bought J E Fuller, in Clacton, Essex, completing the next phase of its ambitious expansion plan.

J E Fuller operates from a single site in Clacton that it has occupied since the 1950s. The business has been run by the Fuller family since its incorporation and by Peter Fuller for 65 years.

Terry Owen, CEO of Huws Gray Group, said: “The acquisition of J E Fuller represents our commitment to grow Huws Gray Ridgeons in the south, whilst continuing the expansion of the Huws Gray brand in the north and west of the country.

Ian Northen, director for Huws Gray Ridgeons said: “We are optimistic about the future and our immediate focus will be to work with the existing team at Fullers to refurbish the branch to allow for more stock and improve the branch layout for customers”
