Huws Gray buys in Southport and Birmingham

Fast-growing builders’ merchants, Huws Gray has announced further additions to its branch network.

In separate transactions, Huws Gray acquired North West based Southport Timber as well as Wheelers Timber and Builders Merchants based in Erdington, north Birmingham.

Managing director Terry Owen said: “These latest acquisitions of well-known and respected companies in the industry are a perfect fit for us to strengthen and expand our branch network. We are looking forward to working alongside the existing teams and investing in both sites by enhancing the stock offering and refurbishing the shop and yard area.”

Huws Gray has an ambitious growth plan as it seeks to strengthen its presence in the UK.

Owen added: “There have been many milestones in our 28 years in business, and 2018 is certainly one of them. It’s been a special year for us and highlights the beginning of our next stage of growth.”
