How smart are you about Smart-phones?

A short survey is trying to find out the state-of-play in the industry with regard to the latest mobile phone technology – the SmartPhone.

How smart are you about Smart-phones?

Since Apple launched its ionic iPhone a few years ago the market for SmartPhones and their applications (Apps) has rocketed. 60 million devices were sold in the second quarter of 2010 and Bloomberg predicts that sales may eclipse PC units by 2012.

Paul Kelly of Cortexa told buildersmerchantsjournal.net: “We are getting a lot of interest at the moment from clients around development of smartphone apps but there is no sector specific research about adoption of the devices to encourage or dampen that enthusiasm.”

Kelly says one of the aims of the survey is to ascertain whether the construction sector is ahead of the curve (having an office in your pocket makes senses for installers/trademan/people who work on site for example) or behind it “the old myth of construction folk being technological luddites”.
