Independent merchant buying group H&B has made executive board changes, resulting in a new chairman and managing director
Nick Lander has been appointed chairman, replacing Peter Buttle who had been chairman since the group’s formation 21 years ago. He will chair the H&B board as well as help to provide strategic direction to the group.
Steve Parkins is now managing director of H&B group and will provide the executive leadership required for the group as it continues to grow.
In addition, Mark Gilham has been appointed finance director, staring in December. He previously held senior positions within Grafton Merchanting.
Also new is category controller Peter Ces Agraso. He has held senior category management roles in companies such as Staples, B&Q, Jewson, Grafton and Travis Perkins.
Lander said: “H&B believe in providing industry leadership, showing agility and being commercially focussed, and we believe these announcements reinforce this position.”
Parkins added: “Since joining the H&B group I have been amazed by the amount of potential, mixed with a superb culture and spirit. I am really looking forward to leading the group through the next chapter in what will be a long history.”
H&B merchant group has now grown to more than 74 members, with a combined turnover approaching £1 billion.
