Green Energy Centre signs first merchant franchisee

green energy centre is a franchise opportunity that allows merchant members of United Merchants plc (Unimer) to the burgeoning renewable and sustainable building market. The franchised merchant is trained on the materials and technologies available for energy saving and carbon reduction and GEC then help them set-up a green energy centre and choose suppliers, if necessary.

Steve Hill, managing director of The Builders Supply Company, said: “We are extremely excited about working with the green energy centre. We have already seen significant benefits in the first few weeks of our partnership.

“People want to save money on ever increasing energy costs and we want them to do it through merchants. The sooner we get involved the better. The ever increasing number of incentives, renewable heat incentive, feed in tariffs and the massive opportunity of the upcoming Green Deal are all covered by the resources of the Unimer backed green energy centre”.

Lorcan Anglin, managing director of Green Energy Centre Limited said: “We are delighted to be working with Steve and his team. I believe this is the first of many franchises to open over the coming months. Merchants, who ignore the huge opportunity presented by low carbon future will ultimately lose sales.”

“Our offer generates revenue for merchants immediately without having to wait for new legislation such as the Green Deal, but will also comply with it when it does arrive. I am delighted to see that a forward thinking merchant has embraced this concept and I have no doubt that Steve and his company, Builders Supply Company, will reap the benefits in a very short space of time”
