Grafton buys MGM Timber

Grafton Merchanting GB has purchased the Oban division of MGM Timber.
All Oban staff will now transfer over to Grafton GB Ltd.

MGM Timber Oban will now become part of Grafton’s Buildbase division, adding to 14 Buildbase outlets already open across Scotland.

The company will also introduce Hirebase and Electricbase at the Oban site, providing tools, equipment hire and electrical supplies.

Mark Kelly, chief executive of Grafton GB Ltd, said: “We are delighted to be able to extend our services to building professionals in and around Oban.

“”We aim to build on our long-established good reputation, using our buying power as a large group as well as access to plumbing, electrical and hire goods to offer local builders and tradesmen a compelling choice.

“They will benefit from access to a wider range of products and a reliable delivery service with support from hands-on expertise in-branch.

Grafton GB Ltd is the UK subsidiary of Grafton Group Plc.

The company currently has more than 60 outlets across Scotland, employing 500 staff from a total of around 500 UK locations employing 4,500 staff.
