Grafton announce merchanting re-structure

Grafton Group have announced a re-structuring of their general merchanting businesses trading in the UK. As of Tuesday this week (April 8) all the group’s general merchanting brands have been brought together under one new division called Grafton General Merchanting GB.
The aim ids to achieve closer integration of Grafton Group subsidiaries including Buildbase, Jacksons, Hendricks Lovell, Buildbase Civils & Lintels, Hirebase, PDM, Keelsupply and Acorn Insulation. Kevin Middleton, current Buildbase chief executive, who has been promoted to managing director of the new operation, takes responsibility for making this happen.

Grafton Group chief operating officer Leo Martin said: “For some time Grafton has been working towards closer integration of its UK general merchanting business to achieve economies of scale including operational efficiencies and product sourcing gains.

“Kevin’s focus will be on maintaining the strong brand identity and market positions of the separate businesses within the marketplace while maximising operational efficiency and product sourcing throughout the UK.”
