An electricity substation in the yard at builders merchant Travis Perkins exploded this week, leaving more than 1,000 homes and businesses in darkness.
The electricity sub-station exploded in the yard at Travis Perkins in Littlehampton around 10.30pm on Tuesday and the explosion rocked the area around it, although there was no subsequent fire.
All the electricity supplies were restored by the early hours of Wednesday morning.
