Bullard, who also appeared on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, was a decorator at his father’s decorating firm for three years before becoming a professional footballer.

He went onto play for a host of clubs, including Wigan Athletic, Fulham and Hull City in the Premier League.

Now decorating teams have the chance to sign Bullard for a day by tweeting the job that they would give him and reasons why their firm would be the right move. They can enter via Twitter using the hashtag #SignJimmy or via www.armsteadtrade.co.uk.

Bullard said: “I’m looking forward to picking up a paint brush again and getting involved in a decorating firm. I’ve still got the perfect finish when it comes to doing a quality painting job and hopefully whichever team I join, they’ll be game for a kickabout during our tea breaks.”

The competiton closes midnight on 13th August.
