King has been sponsored by Elliotts since she was 16. She is now 2011 & 2012 Team Pursuit World Champion, 2011 World Championship Scratch Race Bronze Medalist and Team Pursuit World Record Holder.

King sent an email to Stuart Mason Elliott, managing director of Elliotts to tell them of her selection.

“This is a realisation of a dream that I have had since I was a child having seen my father compete at two Winter Olympic Games.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support. I couldn’t have done it without you. I am now determined to ensure I bring home that Gold medal for GB on August 4.”

Fellow Olympian Roger Black announced King’s selection to merchants and manufacturers at the NMBS Conference in Marbella this morning (Saturday June 23).
