EH Smith wins display award

Independent builders merchant EH Smith was the star in this year’s Toolbank Christmas display competition.

The company’s Leicester branch took first place, winning a 32in backlit television, and its Halesowen branch took fifth place, winning a 7in digital photo frame.

Independent hardware retailer Watson’s Home Hardware of Sutton-on-Sea won the second prize – a Notebook – and the tool specialist Messam of Chichester was third, winning an iPod Nano. The fourth prize, a Kindle, went to another hardware store, Willis McCloskey of Coleraine, Northern Ireland.

The judges were Toolbank sales director Simon Bicknell, NMBS managing director Chris Hayward, BIRA Direct managing director Paul Woolley, and BMJ publisher Colin Petty.
