Drugs factory found in former builders merchant yard

Fifteen people have been arrested after a cannabis factory was discovered at the former premises of builders merchants Jewson in Bangor.
Jewson sold the site at Penlon Works after they moved to new premises at nearby Llandygai 18 months ago to a building contractor.

The new owners had rented it out after being unable to go-ahead with the site’s planned development and knew nothing about what was going on at the site.

The 15 people, most of them of Chinese origin, were arrested by officers working as far apart as Wrexham and Deganwy and have appeared at Llandudno Magistrates Court, on charges of producing unspecified amounts of cannabis.
