Builders Merchants Journal – BMJ Publishing to Builders Merchants and the UK merchanting industry for more than 95 years
A three-way merger has created one of the largest independent plumbing merchants in the south west of England.
The merger sees Delta (Plumbing and Heating) Ltd, with outlets in Weymouth and Dorchester, combine forces with Independent Plumbing Supplies Ltd and Delta Wessex Ltd. The new company will trade as Delta South West Limited and has a cumulative turnover of £10m.
The new company has 10 outlets in Poole, Dorchester, Weymouth, Bridport, Honiton, Yeovil, Redruth, Bridgwater, St Austell and Falmouth, which, says the coompany, makes them “one of the largest independent plumbing merchants to serve the south west region.”
Managing director Simon Etherington, who set up Delta 17 years ago with one outlet in Weymouth said of the move: “Consolidating the three companies into one made sound financial and managerial sense and has allowed us to increase our collective buying power. It will also allow us to move forward with our structured plans for even greater growth of the business.”
