Change at the top as Triton turns 40

Managing director of shower manufacturer Triton, Lorna Fellowes, has announced she will leave the business after 23 years of service to take up a new role with head company the Norcros Group.

Change at the top as Triton turns 40

The shower manufacturer, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, has appointed current business development director, David Tutton, to replace Fellowes from July onwards.

Fellowes joined the business in 1992 as marketing director and was promoted to the position of managing director in 1999, becoming one of only a handful of women to occupy leading positions within the bathroom industry at the time.

Her next step will be to embark upon a new role as an advisor to the Norcros Group, which will see her draw upon years of insight and industry experience to play an integral role in the long term strategic development of the organisation.

David Tutton joined Triton in 2014, having previously worked for other brand names including Astracast and Jacuzzi, has spent the past 15 months as business development director focusing on securing the widest possible distribution for Triton’s product range.

In his new role, Tutton has said he aims to build on Fellowes’ “strong leadership”.

He said: “My pledge is to protect our core competencies including product innovation and development, as well as customer service, for which Triton is well known. I will continue to concentrate on maintaining and forging close relationships with our customers throughout the supply chain, from builders’ merchants and wholesalers right through to the installers, specifiers and retailers who are so vital for the continued recommendation of our brand.

“The great news is we have all the right systems and processes already in place to deliver on our core values of ease of installation, reliability, quality, efficiency and affordable style. This provides a solid starting point for the next phase of Triton’s history and also means we can put all our energy into concentrating on the future and moving forward with ambitious plans.”

On beginning her new role, Lorna Fellowes said: “Over the past 23 years at Triton I have seen the business grow and develop beyond expectations within the Norcros Group. Today, our brand is synonymous with the best of British manufacturing and I am proud to say that one in every three showers installed in UK bathrooms is now a Triton product.

“My career has been about delivering excellence at every level and I have invested a great deal of time and energy into achieving that with the help of everyone across the business. The result of our efforts is a company with strong values, market leading products and services and 40 years of consistent growth from humble beginnings when the business began in 1975 with just six employees manufacturing one shower model from a garage unit in Atherstone.

“Under David’s capable leadership the company will continue to grow and expand while staying true to our core values. I wish him all the very best of luck and it will be a pleasure to continue working with him in my new role at Group level, during what looks set to be an exciting time for everyone at Triton.”
