Chandlers get timber certified

Sussex independent builders merchants Chandlers Building Supplies has received certification from the FSC and PEFC for responsible management of its timber supply chain.

The internationally recognised labels from the Forest Stewardship Council and the Programme for the Endorsement of Certified Forests guarantee that the trees that are harvested are replaced or allowed to regenerate naturally.

“We feel it is extremely important that timber building products are sourced from forests that are managed with an acute environmental awareness,” says Richard Skinner commercial manager at Chandlers.

“It is important that we endeavour to protect the environment. This accreditation ensures that the majority of timber products supplied by Chandlers are sourced from highly controlled environments and are tracked through every stage in the supply chain from the forest to the final user.”
