Builders merchants and building material manufacturers banished thoughts of construction industry troubles at NMBS’s dinner dance.

Despite industry blues, more than 800 guests partied the night away at the annual event, held at the Grosvenor House in London on October 25.
Entertainment was provided by string quartet Stringmania, dance band Supernova, and Legends of Rock, featuring Elton John, Queen and Robbie Williams.
A charity appeal and silent auction raised more than £10,000 for the Rainy Day Trust, and the prize draw was won by Darren Gittings of Assa Abloy.
NMBS chairman Rod Bennion presented BMF chairman Kevin Cubbage with a silver salver to mark the Federation’s centenary.
Sponsors for the evening included Aggregate Industries, British Gypsum, Richard Burbidge, Castle Cement, Catnic, Dickies, Hanson, Harrison & Clough, H+H UK, Hunter Plastics, Klargester, Knauf Insulation, Knauf Drywall, Makita, Marley Eternit, Marley Plumbing & Drainage, Marshalls, Polypipe Building Products, Tarmac and Wavin.
