Builders merchant shares fall again

Wolseley shares took another tumble today, taking Travis Perkins’ and Marshalls’ share prices with them.
Wolseley’s share price had slipped to 331.25p by 4pm today, having closed at 360.25p on July 1.

Travis Perkins suffered too, falling from 499p on July 1 to 456.75p at 4pm today.

Manufacturers were not immune, either, since Marshalls’ share price fell from 144p to 131p during the same time frame.

Investors are believed to be betting that the prices have further to fall, which will allow them to repurchase the shares at a lower price.
