Builders merchant praised for Cumbria flood aid

Labour politicians have praised an employee of builders merchant Travis Perkins in Ulverston for helping out during the flooding crisis in the town.
Andy Bennett was singled out by John Woodcock, prospective parliamentary candidate for Barrow and Furness, and Councillor Mark Wilson, who represents Ulverston East.

Bennett borrowed a fork lift truck from the branch to clear debris from the street and was praised for ‘ taking his own initiative’ in using the fork lift truck to help neighbours and dispose of rubbish.
