Builders merchant makes way for ring road

Byrom Supplies in Chapel Street, Blackburn, have closed and their site has been sold to the local council
After months of negotiations, the council have finally bought the site which will form part of their plans for a £4m road around Blackburn.

Owners Maralyn and Paul Rigby had previously insisted they were unwilling to move, according to the Lancashire Telegraph.

But the business closed last week and Blackburn and Darwen Council will take over the premises at the end of September after all the stock and fixtures have been sold off.
