BSS Industrial appoints Chris Hufflett as new MD

Hufflett, who joined the company in 2012 as sales and operations director, will take over from Frank Elkins, who will now assume the role of divisional CEO of Travis Perkins’ contract merchanting division, which comprises of BSS Industrial and other Group businesses Keyline and CCF.

Commenting on his appointment, Chris Hufflett said: “Given BSS Industrial’s 100 year heritage within the nation’s industrial market, I’m honoured to take on the role of Managing Director. Frank (Elkins) has laid an excellent foundation for me during his tenure and I would like to thank him for his support over the past year and wish him the best of luck in his new role within the Group.

“In spite of the tough economic climate, the company has performed well and I am looking forward to building on this success. The building services sector in Britain is beginning to grow again and the industrial sector is appreciating our renewed focus with an ever increasing product offer. I am confident that with the high level of technical expertise in our business, backed up by our market-leading logistics operation, we will continue to supply all our customers with reliable, efficient and highly effective solutions.”

Prior to BSS Industrial, Hufflett worked as group operations director for ATS Euromaster. He has also spent time as group operations director for Autologic, the market leader in vehicle logistics and car distribution to dealership, in addition to 10 years with Shell in the UK and Eastern Europe.
