Bristan team triumphs in triathalon

The Bristan Group has been celebrating after a 10-strong team of employees completed the London triathlon earlier this month.

Bristan team triumphs in triathalon

The team took part in order to raise money for the company’s 2007 charity, Leukaemia Research, and so far the total stands at more than £6,000.

All the employees that took part completed a 1,500m swim, followed by a 40km bike ride and topped off with a 10km run. And every team member made the finish line.

Amy Brightwell put in a particularly strong performance with a finishing time of just 2.33:37, meaning she placed 30th out of the 156 women who took part.

Ian Lloyd was the quickest male in the Bristan Group team, completing in 2.29:08 – 190th out of 913 men.

Bristan managing director Roger Williams, who himself completed the event in 2.35:24, said: “I have never seen so much white water on the Thames, as wave after wave of swimmers thrashed their way towards the finish line!

“We took part in support of a very worthy cause that is close to our hearts. So far our efforts for the Triathlon have raised over £6,000, with money still being pledged. It was hard work but a great achievement and we are delighted that everyone did so well.”
