B&Q launch trade discount card

Following successful trials in Scotland, B&Q have rolled out a trade discount card to stores nationwide, offering tradesmen rebates of up to 25%.

The trade-only card will entitle holders to a monthly monetary rebate dependent on the types of products they buy. For the nuts and bolts and other hardware products, customers could benefit from a discount of up to 25%, with a 5% discount offered for building materials. There is also a 5% volume rebate for those spending over £1000 on average for three months.

Tradesmen will also be able to receive a discount on showroom products, enabling them to provide a better service to their customers by offering to purchase a kitchen or bathroom at trade price and therefore having the option to pass the discount benefits on.

National trade manager for B&Q Alan Forest said: “Our trade customers are hugely important to us, which is why we’ve been listening carefully to their needs and are delighted to introduce our trade discount card.”

To qualify for a card, tradesmen need to visit the trade desk at their local Warehouse store and complete an application. The application will need to be supported with the appropriate documentation to prove eligibility. Full criteria are available in store or at www.trade.co.uk.
